The Qaggiavuut Society is pleased to announce their teacher training workshop to performing artists interested in facilitating arts programming to children and youth in Arctic communities. The workshop will be held July 14-19 in Iqaluit and is part of the award-winning Qaggiq project, dedicated to supporting northern performing artists.

“The workshop will bring together Arctic performing artists who want to learn techniques that help them share their art with young people in their community,” said Qaggiq Project Manager, Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory. “Northern children and youth benefit from having the performing arts taught to them by northern artists.”

Instructors in the upcoming Performing Arts Teacher Training Workshop will include Igloolik actor and drum dancer Pakak Innuksuk, and Pond Inlet theatre director Sheena Akoomalik.

Interested applicants can fill out the online form. Applications open until June 22, 2016.
