LOOEE ARREAK IS QAGGIAVUUT’S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!
ᓘᐃ ᐋᕆᐊᒃ ᖃᒡᒋᐊᕘᑉ ᑐᑭᒧᐊᑦᑎᑦᑎᔨᒻᒪᕆᑖᖓ
The Qaggiavuut Board of Directors is honoured to announce the appointment of Executive Director, Looee Arreak. Ms. Arreak has been Acting Executive Director of Qaggiavuut since August, 2021 and is an award-winning Inuktut writer, songwriter, singer and costume designer with years of experience as a professional performing artist.
Looee has worked with Qaggiavuut since its inception, she was the Artistic Director of the Qaggiq Festival held in March, 2021 and is a principal writer of Kiviuq Returns, Qaggiavuut’s original drama based on Inuit legends told by elders. Looee believes in the power of the performing arts to inspire, heal and transform and looks forward to leading Qaggiavuut into a new year! "Qaggiavuut has always been about supporting performing artists with training and opportunities. I want to continue this work because I believe our artists are shining stars and light the way for us all to thrive!", says Ms. Arreak.
