The Summit was the kick-off for Qaggiq, and provided us with direction from artists on the types of programming they see is needed. The 2016 Summit is the fourth annual Performing Arts Summit organized by the Qaggiavuut Society and this year included Inuit artists from Nunavik and Nunatsiavut. Arctic Performing Artists gathered in Iqaluit to participate in the Summit, including:
- Business and Legal Information on the Performing Arts
- Master Classes in Inuit Performing Art
- Artist Consultations
- Performing Skills: Acting, Choreography, Ensemble Music
- Technical Skills: Sound, Lighting, Digital Design, Filmmaking
- Teaching Skills for Children & Youth Arts Programming
- Individual Mentorships
The summit culminated with a PUBLIC PERFORMANCE on March 19th.
